Shelley Kenigsberg
Shelley is an industry leader who’s worked in publishing (educational, trade, independent, self-publishing) for over 35 years. She has been, variously, production assistant, editor, publisher, trainer, writer, mentor. Shelley has worked with hundreds of writers as editor (developmental, structural, copy) and collaborated to finesse and prepare manuscripts for publication for publishers and authors publishing independently.
Shelley created Editing in Paradise retreats (with colleague Selena Hanet-Hutchins) in 2009. Since 2011, Shelley has run Writing in Paradise retreats in Bali and in Australia. She has been a mentor for Australian Society of Authors, Byron Bay Writers, and privately, for decades. She is now offering book coaching, and when, in 2020, Covid-19 changed the possibility of one-to-one teaching, began running courses online — weekly Writers’ Salons and fortnightly Masterclasses.
Shelley has presented writing and editing workshops to small and large corporations, writers centres and, in paradisal places in South East Asia. She regularly moderates and presents at professional conferences and writers festivals in Australia and Asia (Ubud Readers and Writers; Byron Bay Writers, Asia Pacific Writers and Translators, Singapore Book Council Academy).
